Mission: Southwest SELPA unites 12 school districts and 5 charter schools to champion over 13,000 students with disabilities. By leveraging our collective strengths, expert resources, and collaborative governance, we ensure universal program availability, rigorous curriculum support, and comprehensive staff development, delivering high-quality special education training and services with maximum effectiveness.

Vision: We envision an interconnected educational community where every student with disabilities is empowered to thrive in an accessible, equitable, and inclusive environment. Through robust interagency coordination, proactive transition planning, and engaged community partnerships, we transform our schools into safe, supportive hubs of lifelong growth and success.

In 1977, all school districts and county school offices were required to form geographical regions of sufficient size and scope to provide for all special education service needs of children residing within the region boundaries.
